Every day, the administrators of the Flickr site choose 500 of the best images out of the many thousands posted that day, to be added to the 'EXPLORE' Section of the site. The rationale they work to is known only to them but includes content quality, originality, description and a multitude of other criteria. For a member of Flickr to have an image appearing in EXPLORE is a major accolade.
